Oh Christmas Tree

Our tree is up, yahoo!
Eric, Tyler and Steve (our very good family friend) headed out to The Red Barn last week to pick up our Christmas Tree. Tyler had a fun time at the tree farm and really enjoyed getting into the spirit of the holiday season. I'm convinced we should have lived on a farm - just to let him run wild. (That should make many of you laugh to think about me living on a farm!)

This is our family friend Steve with his tree. Many thanks to Steve for driving with his truck to the farm, it was much easier than putting a tree on top of our car.
Tyler found some horses at The Red Barn and he was fascinated with them. The horses were the first thing he told me about!

Friday night we started decorating our tree. Chloe and Eric were able to get it all set up outside (it was so cold) and bring it inside to decorate. Aunt Krista joined us for a yummy fresh crab dinner, and then it was onto decorating.

By the time we ended up getting started on the tree, it was almost an hour past Tyler's bedtime. So, he was a little wound up, shall we say. Eric took this picture of Tyler making a goofy face and it just cracked me up - I've never seen him make such an awkward face.

Aunt Krista, Chloe, Tyler and I put most of the ornaments and garland on. Eric did the lights and the tree topper star. The kids put on their Christmas pj's for the occasion & we listened to Christmas music throughout the event.

Chloe did an awesome job of putting the ornaments on. She would look all around the tree to make sure she put them on evenly and spread them all out. Tyler went nuts with the red balls-he put them all in one spot on the bottom, as you can see by this picture. Lol. Such a difference between boys and girls I suppose. This year we have no breakable ornaments on our tree. It seems like in years past, even prior to Tyler, we would loose a few ornaments - they would just randomly fall off the tree in the middle of the night and hit the wood floors and shatter. It took me about 6 years to figure it out, so I'm feeling on the ball with the tree this year, ha ha.
As soon as I get the tree skirt ironed and finish wrapping the presents, I'll post a picture of the finished project!
