I am way behind on my blog. I've been really busy lately which is partly why I have not written. I must also admit, I have been using much of my internet time on Facebook. It's something fun and new...and it's so cool to see the day to day stuff that friends are doing.
Where to start? Hmmm. How about the boring parts first - Eric & myself :) We are just plugging along, both still employed. Thank you Fed gov't & Intel :) It's getting to be that time of the year where we spend most of our time outside. We have started getting the yard, garden, and all the pots in order. Between the two of us we have pulled SO MANY weeds it's just crazy! We have planted many flower starts (around 48 or so that went into pots). As soon as it gets warmed up a bit more then we will put the annuals into the ground. We are busy getting our garden plan ready for this year also. We always have the best potatoes and tomatoes. From there, it's hit or miss. Trust me, we have tried them all. Eric is talking about getting dirt and gravel to add to the yard and side yard, which makes me sore just to think about :)
So, onto the not so boring people - the kids :)
Chloe is really into reading the Twilight Series right now. She has been plowing right through the books. She started reading Book #3 over the weekend - the Easter Bunny brought it in her basket. I'm sure she will be ready for book #4 by this weekend. Hmmm, better get that ordered asap! Chloe is having fun at school & is quite the little social butterfly! She is growing so fast and is almost as tall as I am, which isn't too hard to beat. She continues to be my little shopping girl and my bff at the salon. We always have so much fun together. Chloe is a little angel with Tyler as well. Her new thing is playing Candyland with him. Unfortunately, she doesn't have any interest in babysitting Tyler or any other children. Darn it. We'll keep on her about that one :)
Tyler continues to be Tyler. Full of energy and moving around at lightening speed. He is having all kinds of fun riding his motorcycle and his bike. He loves digging in the dirt, playing soccer, meeting new friends at the park and school. He is in his last 6 weeks of preschool & will then be in kindergarten in the fall. I know, I know, I can't even go down that road yet. Whew. Tyler has preschool graduation on May 21st and I'm really looking forward to the program the kids will be putting on. I'm sure I will cry...that's ok for Mom's to do tho, right?
In other news, we just celebrated my Grandma Mabel's 90th birthday party! What a milestone. Many family members and friends from out of town were able to attend. It's was a really fun party and a huge success! The food was delicious and it was so nice to be able to catch up with Aunts, Uncles and cousins I hadn't seen in a very long time.
At the party...my cousin Jason decided to give Tyler a REALLY LARGE piece of chocolate cake for dessert. Needless to say Tyler was bouncing off the walls. Jason took Tyler outside for a little "run"...then Eric did the same thing. Unfortunately, Tyler fell down and really did a number on his elbow. Since we were at my Grandma's retirement center, we couldn't have had an accident at a better place away from home, because they have a full staff of nurses. I took Tyler to the nurses station, which he thought was totally awesome and they were able to get his elbow fixed right up! All the little things you can never plan for with kids :)
Chloe was my little helper that day - she helped me carry things to and from the cars - and she even helped with the clean up. Chloe did a great job of talking with people she had never met before (many of them adults), and answered all questions with a smile. She is such a wonderful young lady. I'm starting to think that our life would be totally un-eventfull and boring without Chloe and Tyler. The kids always keep things interesting.
I suppose that's the quick catch up with the Gallinger Family for now...I'll get some Easter and 90th Birthday pictures posted very soon!
