Some bath time fun!

Cars

We recently went to the Portland Auto Show...what a fun place to check out the latest cars! Here are a few pictures from the event.

All you need is love...and a back hand spring!

Sending a little Chloe love your way...looking absolutely cute as can be!

Chloe had the opportunity to see the play High School Musical with her Dad this weekend. The two had a great time. When I asked Chloe what her favorite part of the play was, she mentioned some of the costume designs. Then she quickly went on to say how this week in gymnastics she landed her standing back hand spring dismount. Using her bed, she was able to show us sort of what she was talking about. Of course, it's much better in the gym, because they have the springy floors. Way to go Chloe!

Snow Day

On Monday morning we woke up to snow! Luckily, we didn't have to go anywhere, so we could just stay at home and play in the snow. Tyler had lots of fun making snow angels. He even made a mini-snowman with a carrot nose and some raisin eyes. I think he had the most fun making snowballs and throwing them off the back deck.
Our snow slowly melted in the afternoon, and Tyler was sad to see the snow gone. He keeps asking when it will come back to see him.
Until the snow returns, at least we have a few pictures to remind us of our fun morning!

Look at me!

Honestly, there is no way I could make this stuff up. Tyler was playing in his room and must have decided he needed to add some accessories to his current wardrobe...you have to love the imagination of a child.

I'll have what Chloe is having

Tyler enjoys french toast too, but mostly because that's what big sister is eating!

French Toast

There is nothing more that Chloe loves than her cinnamon chip french toast on Saturday morning...she tops it with vanilla yogurt, yum!

Tyler and friends...

Anyone who knows Tyler, knows he absolutely has to take his "dog" (the ratty blue Gund Comfy cozy in the picture) everywhere he goes. Recently, he was been wanting to take one of Chloe's old stuffed animals with him as well...Simba...Simba is just about as big as Tyler is. Looks like we might need another car seat for the back of the car!

Sort of snow-day

Every child's dream come true, school is cancelled because of snow!

Well, close enough. Today we woke up to plenty of ice on the ground. Today Tyler had preschool, however, due to the weather, preschool was cancelled. Poor Tyler, he was so bummed out there wasn't any school today, he was really looking forward to going and seeing his Teachers and friends. I'd say give him a few more years, and he'll be doing a dance of joy when school is cancelled.

We have had a busy week, so I will catch you all up.

Last week Tyler and I went to see my Grandma Mabel. She has recently moved into a retirement community and is really enjoying it. Tyler knows Grandma Mabel ans Grandma Great. We had a nice time visiting G. Great, and she invited us to join her for lunch, which was pretty darn good I have to say. It was almost like going out to eat-they had whatever you wanted, which was really nice. Tyler seemed to be the hit of the dining room that afternoon. He had so many people smiling at him and waving, that he was just laughing up a storm. He decided that he wanted to go say hi to people, so I why not? Tyler walked around the room saying "Hello, I'm Tyler," then giving out hugs and kisses to anyone who would take them (which by the way was everyone). It was really neat to see Tyler put a smile on so many faces. He is such a little lover. My Grandma told me that all her "friends" want Tyler to come back. Guess he's turning into a popular little man at the Willamette Lutheran Homes.

Chloe had an awesome week in gymnastics. She perfected her dismount and did a round-about on the uneven bars. Friday night, she was showing us some of her new moves, and Eric told her to bend her knees and go backwards. She ended up doing a standing back hand spring, what an accomplishment! She did many more for the next 2 days, and it was fun to watch her every time.

Eric is back at Intel this week, so life is back to our normal routine. It was so nice having him at home for the past 3 moths, I think Intel should offer employees sabbatical every other year :) Good luck with that one!

Well, I think that's our catch up. Time to go take my cookies out of the oven!

Back to school

Winter break has been awesome! The kids and I did all kinds of cooking, playing and shopping. All good things must come to and end. School started back up this week, on Wednesday to be exact.

Chloe was actually really excited to go back to school. When people asked her if she was, she would say no, but when push came to shove, she was ready to get back into the swing of things. She was excited to see her friends, and to wear her new clothes to school.

When I picked her up from school Friday afternoon, she said that she didn't mind going back to school mid-week, because she could gradually ease her way back into things. I had to laugh. Such insight for a 10 year old girl.

Tyler was back at school on Thursday this week. It didn't matter much to him that he was going back to school to see his friends, or to wear his new clothes. What Tyler cared about was getting back to the School Grocery Store. It's a center that his teacher had set up in the class. Thursday night after work, I asked him how school was. He said, "no good mama, the grocery store is all gone." Apparently the School Grocery Store was a center that was seasonal. He really couldn't talk much more about school since his school world has been crushed. He did say that he'd go back next week to see what would be there. Such a little trooper!

Eric is rumored to go back to work tomorrow. He's been on sabbatical since the begining of November. Like Tyler and his grocery store, having my husband be home has been seasonal, and I'm not looking forward to him going back to work. I think I'll just stop there, just incase the rumors of him returning can be put off for one more week.

177 weeks

Every weeks since Tyler was born (there have been exactly 177 of them now), I take his picture. Tyler was born on a Tuesday, so it's now known as "Tyler Tuesday." I never attempt to get the best picture possible, I just try to capture the moment of something he's doing on that particular day. This is his latest picture. Tyler is playing with the train/land/sea/air table that Santa brought him for Christmas.
I'm starting to think that Santa is really in the know about what kids like. This is the first toy that Tyler has had (and trust, he has had a lot), that he still likes to play with a week later. Nice call Santa.
I'll start posting Tyler Tuesday pictures, hope you all enjoy them.

Christmas 2007

Our yearly family Christmas picture. Sure Tyler has on one red sock, and one black sock, and Eric and I are in our slippers (Chloe looks picture perfect as always), but it's just how this Christmas was. Lots of fun and a little random wackiness thrown in to the mix. We celebrated Christmas Eve with Eric's family, and Christmas day with my family.

Eric and Tyler picked out our Christmas tree this year, and it was a beauty. It measured over 10ft tall and filled the room with cheer. It seems like Christmas was over too quickly this year, but we are already looking forward to Christmas 2008!

Merry Christmas Tyler

Christmas with kids is always fun. I think Tylers favorite part of Christmas was just seeing the present. He really enjoyed unwrapping the gifts, and didn't seem to care what was inside them. He also enjoyed playing "Santa" and handing out gifts to everyone. He was a little disappointed that Santa didn't bring him a "real reindeer" this year, but was okay with it once he saw the train that Santa had left for him.

Merry Christmas Chloe

Chloe had an awesome Christmas this year. Her favorite gifts were clothes, her new pink digital camera and gift cards. We spent almost an entire day at Washington Square shopping with her gifts cards!

I'll try that

2008! I'm not really one to make new years resolutions, but this year I decided (after many hints from family and friends) that it was time to jump into blogging. Why not? It seems like a great way to keep in touch with people.

So, here goes, wish me luck!
