Tee Ball, Tonsils and Training

Life has been busy, to say the least. Tyler is in the midst of tee ball season. Lots of practices and games. The kindergarten teams play 4 full innings. The games run about 2 hours each, which I'm starting to realize is way too long for the 5 and 6 year olds...but the game goes on! Tyler is enjoying it quite a bit. Here he is on 3rd base!
And then running for home!
And posing for a picture!

Last Monday, May 3rd started out with a trip to the ENT for Tyler. Tyler has been sick since March, with a horrible cough, runny nose and complains that his ears are plugged. He has been on an antibiotic constantly. This has been nothing new to us - ever since Tyler's first birthday, it seems as if he's had a cold or a cough. They would last forever. Once they would go past 10 days, then the pediatrician would tell us to bring him in. Finally, this spring it was just to the point where he was never getting better and our Dr. agreed that we needed to go see and Ent. The Ent was so nice. He looked in Tyler's ears first and said he had recessed ear drums - meaning that they weren't popping. No wonder he always felt like his ears were plugged. Then Dr. looked up his nose, and in his mouth. He had very large tonsils. Dr. then took a history from me and told me that his tonsils & adenoids needed to come out, and they were also going to clean out his sinuses while he was "asleep." I had a gut feeling this was what was going to happen. While it's really hard to think about your own child having surgery, it's better to think about them being healthy and feel well again. So, we are scheduled for June 21st.
Some bright news came at the end of that Monday day tho - Eric was offered a new position at Intel. Yay! The fab he has been in for the past 10 years is closing at the end of June. It's a really big deal when Intel shuts down a fab. Eric has actively been looking for a new position for quite some time now...then an answer to prayers arrived! He is the perfect person for the new job and I am so proud of him! His new position starts next week and he is looking forward to many more years at Intel. Oh and by the way, he is excited too! :)
