Gobble Gobble! Here is our little turkey man on Thanksgiving. He had the BEST time playing hide & go seek with my cousins Sarah and Alex. They were so good playing with Tyler and yes, he even wore out a 16 year old and a 14 year old, lol.
We had a wonderful dinner filled with the most delicious food - and the company was awesome. We celebrated with my parents, Grandma, Aunt & Uncle and cousins. I think I'm still feeling a little food sick from all rich and yummy food we had.
Now the real countdown is on - only 27 days to Christmas, yippppppeeeeeee!

1 Month

Christmas Eve is one month from today, yahooooooooooooooooooo!

I am so excited for Christmas this year. Every year I think I get a little more excited. I am so excited this year (for no reason, really) that today I started decorating the house. Eric was sweet enough to get all my, I mean "our" Christmas boxes down from the attic last weekend. This morning Tyler and I went through all of them and started on the inside. So much fun.

I'd like to get our tree a week from Friday. I'd go for earlier, but I'm worried about it getting dried out. Last year we got our tree about 2 1/2 weeks before Christmas and it was getting dry by the time the 25th rolled around. I will say that last year we had an 11 ft. Christmas tree and even with watering it 2x a day, it was always thirsty. This year, we are going with a more humble tree. The 11 ft one was way too hard to decorate - I had to use the ladder. I say that now, but we will see what wins out when we go pick out our tree at the Christmas barn. Yep, we cut it down fresh. No comments on that one, please.

The kids and I made a list last weekend of all the holiday activities we wanted to do. This weekend I think we will open the festivities with 2 of our favorite movies. Elf is the #1 choice, and then the Polar Express will come second. Good times are ahead. The kids want to make frosted sugar cookies (as we do every year). Our kitchen always looks like it's been hit by a tornado after we are done with that activity. I think I found some red hots under our refrigerator recently, they were from last years decorating. Lol.

I am almost done with Christmas shopping - just a few more items and I'm hoping I can finish up this weekend. Yes, I'm planning to do my annual get up at 4:30 am to make it to the stores by 5am thing on Black Friday. I've already scanned the ads and have my game plan set in motion. Should be fun. I did just read online today that most stores will be offering the same items and deals online. What? What? What? It can't be true. Miss out on going to the store, no way! It's the thrill of rushing into the store. He he. We'll see what happens when my alarm goes off on Friday morning. I'm not quite as spry as I use to be.

Stay tuned for some fun posts and pictures!

Tagged

I was tagged by my sister in law Megan :) Seems pretty fun, so I'll join in! Here is my project. You go to the 4th album on your computer, open it, choose the 4th picture and then write 4 things about it. Then tag 4 of your friends to do the same thing. (Altho-I'm not sure that I have that many people who read our blog, who have blogs of their own?) So, if you read our blog and have a blog, then tag, you are it!
1. It was Easter weekend and on Friday night we dyed Easter Eggs.
2. Chloe does not have her braces yet in this photo-it's so hard to imagine her w/out them now.
3. Seeing this photo reminds me that Chloe loves PEEPS - she asks for them every year in her Easter basket, but they rarely get eaten. I have quite a collection of PEEPS out in our garage food storage.
4. I love the smile Chloe has on her face - it's her smile of pure fun. Even though Chloe says she wants to live in a Condo when she grows up, so she doesn't have to do yard work and get her hands dirty, she actually loves getting her hands dirty. Her smile is proof of that!

Go B.O.!

Don't forget to VOTE today!

It's going to be a landmark election, and one that I'm sure will go down in the history books (Do you really think kids will have actual history books in the future? I'm picturing a mini-laptop instead).

All I can say to John McCain is I hope you wore extra deodorant today, because I'm sure you'll be sweatin' it out.

Boo-ya!

This will be the final Halloween post - yahoo!

I love Halloween and this year we did plenty of events with the kids to prepare for the big day! Friday started out with Tyler having a Harvest Party at school. Eric was able to attend with him, and Tyler had a fun time.

I was able to snap a few pictures of Tyler in his costume on Halloween night. He was a monkey this year, and had so much fun going to trick-o-treating. The first house he went to was one of my parents neighbors (and good friends). They always enjoy seeing Tyler, and this year gave him a special treat - a wooden toy car. Needless to say Dave & Lindy set the bar pretty high, as this was the first house he went to this year, lol.

Tyler quickly got into the groove of saying "Trick-o-Treat" when the door would open. He even remembered his manners and said "thank you" after receiving candy. Maybe some of the things we strive for as parents actually do happen?

After a little over an hour, he was ready to call it a night, and his spider bag was full of candy. Tyler was in constant negotiations with Eric and I as to how many pieces of candy he could have. We told him he could have 4 pieces since he was 4 years old - he had his heart set on 10 (go figure?). When it was all said and done, he couldn't eat more than 3 pieces, lol - and he ate all kit-kats :)

I think that Tyler honestly had the most fun handing out candy to the trick-o-treaters. Grandma Carol & Grandpa Jim had hundreds (Literally) of little ones knocking on the door. Tyler would run as fast as he could to open the door and hand out candy. It was pretty darn cute. He loves to meet new people and make lots of friends. He told me that he now knows all the people in Grandma & Grandpa's neighbourhood and they are his friends.

Until next year, here are a few pictures of Mr. T.

Tyler loved showing off his banana to people...
